Why ENFPs Use All Parts Of The Brain | The Cognitive Functions, But Simple
Hey everyone name is Erik Thor and today we’re talking about all the ENFP cognitive functions. So if you’re tired of reading descriptions online about yourself as an ENFP and hearing about how enthusiastic and creative and curious you are, and if you feel like there’s more to you than just one cognitive function or just extraverted intuition or just one Process you want to start looking at the cognitive functions and all the eight particular cognitive functions to talk about yeah.
All eight are of equal importance to you to understand as an ENFP.
If you want to have a full and dynamic understanding of yourself and your mood shifts and your energy and how it can transform from situation to situation, you want to look at the cognitive functions now.
The cognitive functions are in order, extraverted, intuition, or any for short, which is kind of like the dance function.
The flow function, and the happiness function.
So when you are at your best, this is usually the function you see.
The most.
This function is often contrasted against introverted feelings or Fi the teaching function or the teacher.
This is also who an INFP sorry about, who would ENFP feels the proudest to be so?
This is often was ENFP feels most proud of in themselves. Third, we can talk about extraverted thinking or Te, which is the student function, so this function is the strongest when you feel a bit insecure, or a bit anxious because often that can trigger this needs to work hard or push yourself at some level to challenge yourself.
Finally, we talked about introverted sensing, Si what you could call the attack function or the rival function is most associated with anger in general.
So a lot of the time it can be anger at the conventions and norms around you or feeling limited or stuck in something so that’s, usually how Si manifests for an ENFP.
Then we can talk about for often relegated as unconscious functions and that’s first introverted intuition Ni, which is the dive function for an ENFP so kind of like when you are digging into something or taking a leap of faith or jumping at something new Or putting yourself in an unknown situation that’s usually introverted intuition that lets you do that, and this is this function is usually best characterized by the feeling of surprise or aw or wow like wow.
What is this so? This is new, or I’ve never seen anything like this before.
So this is usually the inspirational function or the muse after, and I am can talk about it.
Extroverted Feeling and Fe is also really important function to talk about for an ENFP because extraverted feeling is an ENFPs play function which is just how you let loose and has fun.
So if you need energy or if you need to recharge, the usual external feelings will be that recharge for you as an ENFP, then, after that we have introverted thinking which is kind of like the adult function in an ENFP.
So it’s kind of like the stress in life.
So when you feel stressed or tensed, usually introverted thinking is the strongest function in you at the time because it triggers that need to be more critical to think more carefully about yourself to look at your mistakes, to avoid mistakes, to take responsibility for problems and issues And to try to make things better, it’s also kind of like the climb function because it’s usually manifested as kind of a climb or going uphill or pushing yourself to hit the next level or to do something really difficult. Finally, we can talk about expert at sensing which is kind of like the run function or the vulnerable function, and it can manifest as stage fright or fear of being caught off guard or like this kind of its anxiety over this more fearful kind of anxiety, of Avoiding certain situations or difficult environments.
So if we want to dig into it more extra to the intuition for an ENFP comes completing, naturally, it’s effortless it’s, the strongest when you feel relaxed or when you are well rested, it’s, the weakest.
When you’re, stressed tense, or exhausted, so expert intuition comes from that freedom of just being able to do whatever you want and that feeling that there is nope there.’s, no pressure.
There are no inhibitions.
There’s nothing in your way and ENFP needs to feel recharged and rested to access their flow function and flow comes out.
Naturally, in a moment where you feel fully confident and fully excited and fully passionate and fully in tune with yourself and your inner voice, the interested feeling is in many ways kind of like a pushed-out function.
It’s a calling, a mission.
It’s like a sense of purpose into hurt feelings tends to be an awakening of peace, core purpose.
It has to feel like what an ENFP is set out to do.
What is it an ENFP is set out to do when it is to realize themselves to be the best version of themselves to become the ideal that they want to become, even if peace sees intuitive feeling as their core mission, and it’s. Often, what has to be said what has to be done, or what feels so important? You have to do it, no matter what so it’s like it, like the greatest goal in life in a sentence for an ENFP expert.
The thinking is kind of like the reason why, even if peace finds it hard to feel satisfied by things a lot of time when enfp’s thrown themselves into novelty and new situations, there is often a feeling like there should be more.
I should aim higher.
I should go further.
I should go better.
I should push myself a bit more.
I should make more.
I should be more successful.
I should do this so that a long time in peace, and have a high feeling of excitement thinking about the dissatisfaction so a long time.
It’s like this sense of I should push myself better. I should have higher goals and higher aims and it’s difficult.
It creates difficulty with feeling satisfied and proud of yourself for what you do so, no matter how much te you do.
There is often a feeling that you should always do more.
You should always push it harder, so it’s a lot of time.
It’s like the whip I’ve enjoyed.
The feeling is the carrot.
So if the introverted feeling is like it, oh that’s what I’m aiming towards that! Well, that’s it! What I want to reach that’s the pride that’s, the oh I wouldn’t go for expert thinking.
Is that the wait? Buff does more work harder, be better, so that’s important to recognize that dynamic is very important.
Si interested sensing is often it also.
It often causes this need to this fear of this stress over settling like there can be a for an ENFP and anger towards yourself, for not being who you are supposed to be. There can be anger at conventions and norms in your society like.
Why are people doing this? Why do people live like that? Why do people think or act that way so a lot of the time? It can be a kind of anger against the norm.
So if everyone has a common way of doing things or if there is a convention or tradition – and you feel as Nina P, that this tradition is wrong or lemon thing a lot of time, even if peace can have a lot of it, yeah anger about those Things about stupid rules that make no sense in their heads interested intuition, as perhaps best accessed.
If you can allow yourself to take risks in life, it requires an openness toward the unknown.
So that means a lot of time just with, and I allow yourself to explore an unknown possibility or allow yourself to listen to.
I hear a new perspective open yourself to a different viewpoint: Ian of peace.
They are a lot of times, people that, like to turn life into mystery novels, so Ian.
If peace like to believe that there is a greater mystery to life, there is a hidden vision or hidden purpose to everything that’s happening and Ian.
If peace, they use extra intuition to figure out these mysteries, so what you want to do is you want to use intro tune intuition it’s kind of like firewood for yourself.
So you want to have an environment around you, which is fascinating, which is curious, which is puzzling, which is strange because that fuels your expertise, intuition, and drive to figure things out. Do connect the dots and see the patterns and make the connections and spot opportunities extra.
The feeling is in many ways focused on connection and interpersonal relaxation, so it’s for an ENFP it very important that friendships and family members, and so on, feel pressure.
Free there, shouldn’t be a lot of pressure associated with friendships and connections.
Connections should be natural, it should be about just letting loose and relaxing together should be about just hanging out Ian.
If peas, don’t often believe that yeah friendships, shouldn’t be work.
If a family shouldn’t be pressured stress in your life, it should be just something carefree and simple and easy, and so that’s often about the need for peace, idealism to create kind of pressure, free natural friendships that just merchants that are spontaneous, and that is more about having fun together and more about relaxing together than about what you say, work or about duties or expectations, interred thinking is also very important to talk about, because yeah inner peace and to have adult t I and that’s often in the sense that they’re always nagging at themselves.
There I see, even if peace constantly nagging at themselves, criticizing and scrutinizing themselves, so I shouldn’t do that.
I shouldn’t be different.
I should look different.
I should talk differently. I should you know there’s, often that kind of pressure that comes with TI for Nina P, because you can be so aware of how other people perceive you, and you are so constantly trying to be perfect and a lot of time.
You feel pressure to be the perfect Dean of peace.
Don’t often feel pressure to always have a well-polished surface and to be spotless into not have any issues or to not make any mistakes in what they do and, to be honest at times that can hold you back from being yourself, and that Pressure can be too much so you have to manage Ti against Effie, so you have to allow yourself to have friendships and connections where you don’t feel yatta and where that Ti is turned off or as low as possible.
So, even if people can criticize you or can scrutinize you, they should keep that to a minimum or you should have friends who will just accept you just the way you are finally extroverted sensing for an EFP.
I noticed a lot of being of peace.
They suffer from a bit of stage fright and that’s, often or you can tell they’re, not the years of peace, because in if peace, they don’t like to bring attention to themselves, they don’t like to be caught in the Spotlight they don’t like to get caught with their pants down.
You know they want to anticipate everything they’re, always reading every situation predicting planning plotting.
You know going over treads.
That could be said.
This could happen. This could come to pass and if they fail to do it as if life shows them a curveball if something unexpected happens and they’re not prepared for it and they didn’t anticipate it.
They that’s, like it’s like when the hero fails, it’s like when you it’s like falling off a cliff in a sunset view, because for your expert intuition, your ability to predict and plan and plot and see connections that are, what you pride yourself, the most honest, your flow function that’s, what you feel the best.
So if you ever miss a connection it’s like how did I miss that? How could I not see that it’s a confidence killer as an ENFP, because you expect it? You should always be able to do it, but of course, you won’t always be able to do it.
So with extroverted sensing, you have to look at it as something to be very conscious and very careful with so avoid running from and escaping from a situation just because you haven’t planned for it.
Don’t suddenly back da4 disappear because you find yourself in an unfamiliar environment or if something happens, you didn’t see it coming and try to stay, put and tried not to free search to flee from that moment or from that situation or, And try to just breathe in that when that happens, and when you are on the stage when you are in a situation where everyone is eyes are on you and we feel very seen and you are put on the spot, you have to present something to others To talk about something and everybody’s listening at you, try us to pace yourself and to talk car carefully and slowly and try as much as possible to turn off your TI inner critic and to just be able to keep a natural flow and a steady Breath, while you do it just may try to make yourself as comfortable as possible, and hopefully it’s going to turn out.
Okay and if it doesn’t most people will have forgotten about it tomorrow.
So these are the eight NFP cognitive functions and what I want you to do is I want you to imagine and spot how all these cognitive functions appear in you and how you perceive them.
I guess the mental associations and the feelings you have about them are so important.
Now I want to say thanks to everyone for watching and I hope to see you all in the next video.
