‘Typical’: John Harwood sends out Cruz quote without full context; Updates with full quote after backlash
That was how CNBC’s John Harwood and CNN’s Teddy Schleifer quoted Ted Cruz when he was addressing whether females should be required to register for selective service.
Many took the quote and ran with it as tweeted.
It isn’t. Becket Adams provided the entire context of Cruz’s remarks.
Given his history, is anyone surprised that John Harwood would do that?
After immense criticism, Harwood and Schleifer tweeted the complete version of Cruz’s comments.
The Left-wing media always correct their errors … after they’ve damaged a Republican. But, of course, Harwood couldn’t even admit he had made an error.
Cruzcould have been clearer with his quote; Harwoodcould have also added the key words that changed its meaning. It’s certainly not the first time hehas been in this position:
