Marrying your sibling or cousin seems like insanity, doesn’t it? (Not only that, but it’s also probably illegal.) While most people feel that it is wrong, there are also some individuals that feel the contrary. They have no problem of keeping love in their own gene pool.
These are some of the more famous cases of that, with some of the most recognizable people in the world engaging in the act of incest. Why didn’t people have a problem with this?

Allen married his ex-wife’s adoptive daughter, Soon-Yi after Mia Farrow and he split. Soon-Yi, who is 35 years younger than Allen claims to have never considered him her father figure. So while it technically isn’t incest, still…c’mon…
2.) Albert Einstein and Elsa Lowenthal
Einstein, a person who many consider to be one of the smartest men in the world, knew what he liked. And he liked his first cousin. So he decided to start a relationship with and marry her. Who is to question him though? He’s no slouch.
3.) Angelina Jolie and James Haven
While these two aren’t married or there is no concrete evidence about their incestuous relationship, Jolie has taken her brother, Haven, to many red carpets. They’ve also shared many passionate kisses in front of the cameras. In an interview, James has stated that it is hard for him to find love because he already has the “perfect woman” in his life, his sister.
4.) Charles Darwin and Emma Wedgwood
This dude was actually actively testing out the theory of evolution. When he married his first cousin and had 10 (jeez) children with her, he soon discovered the side effects to having inbred children. Many of his kids were sick quite often and this led him to find out why, what he found was that because of the in-breeding he had practiced they were more susceptible to illness.
5.) Jerry Lee Lewis and Myra Gale Brown
Goodness gracious, great balls of fire! Not only did Lewis marry his first cousin but at the time of their marriage she was only 13 years old while he was 22. How was that even legal?
6.) FDR and Eleanor Roosevelt.
Oh yeah. The Commander in Chief also dipped in the family ink. FDR and Eleanor were 5th cousins, so it’s not as bad as some of the people mentioned in this article, it still counts.
7.) Morgan Freeman and E’Dena Hines
Freeman vehemently denies this, but rumors were swirling that he had engaged in a relationship with his step-granddaughter. While it’s hard to prove a rumor, it’s also hard to disprove this particular one so we’ll just say the jury is still out on this one.
8.) Mackenzie and John Phillips
John Phillips, a singer with The Mamas and The Papas and his daughter, actress Mackenzie Phillips had a consensual sexual relationship that was mainly fueled by drugs, but that doesn’t seem to be a good excuse.
