In the photo above the story at the link, one of the “Republicans” pictured is George Wallace, former governor of Alabama and segregationist who was a Democrat. Wallace ran for U.S. president four times — three as a Democrat and once as an independent. Wallace was never a Republican, but don’t tell that to Salon:
