– especially for children. Today we will talk about childhood memories
of Christmas time. In this video, I will share my favorite childhood memories with you. Someone asked me in the Facebook group to do it and if you ask anything of me,
I do it! I don’t always do it right away because I have a long list, but I do it.
Have fun! Here we go! My favorite childhood memories… I have many fond memories of the Christmas season.
It was always a very great time. For one, there was no need to go to school,
there were plenty of sweets that you could eat and there were gifts. Everything was beautifully lit, and everything smelled good.

when it was Christmas. Most of all I remember that
I always waited for Christmas for a long time and had a lot of anticipation and many hopes.
I have always hoped for a long time
to get a particular gift. For example, there was this one Christmas, when I hoped a lot to get a Game Boy. That was two thousand …
No, not even two thousand, but in 1997/98. I do not know when the first Game Boy came out;
these are many, many years ago. I was hoping very much to get this Game Boy and I hoped very much to also get accessories. I thought there were very great accessories for this
Game Boy. I think that was the Game Boy Color. There was even a magnifying glass, so you could better see the screen and there was an extra battery, so you could play longer and all that. And this accessory I wanted to have and of course,
the Game Boy Color! And I had hoped very much to get it
and I had almost given up. I do not know if you also had such a feeling
during Christmas when you were a child, that you were thinking:
“I would like to have this one gift, but I will probably not get it. ” But then, when it was Christmas time when it was Christmas Eve, I got this Game Boy and I was very happy! That was a great feeling because I had long thought that I would not get it and then I got it.
It was very, very nice.
And I also remember that one time, when I was in the woods in a cabin
with my family, my extended family. We celebrated Christmas in a cabin in the woods and no one else was in sight. We were very isolated and so we children could also be very noisy. We could be very loud this Christmas
because we were in a hut and I’ll tell you soon, why that was especially important. You see, at that time I wanted to have a CD player.
I very much wanted to have a CD player. Well, right now it occurs to me,
how I am speaking of times past with technologies that are taken for granted today
or are even obsolete! Well, the Game Boy is nothing
compared to today’s smartphones, and the fact that I wanted to have a CD player at the time, is very strange from today’s perspective. Today almost everyone has either a CD player on his computer or even something better
or they don’t even need a CD player.
But then, on this Christmas,
I very much wanted to have a CD player. This Christmas, I got a CD. I opened the gift and then the gift was a CD and I said to my brother:
“Hey, I can use your CD player, to play this CD. ” At that time only my brother had a CD player
and not me. I did not know, that I also got a CD player, so I thought, “Okay, I got a CD, but I can not play it.
I always have to ask my brother.” But then I open the next gift and it is a CD player. That blew me away.
There, I was very pleased. Since we were, as I said, in a cabin in the woods, I was allowed to turn my brand-new CD player up to full volume. That was great! Then there was that one Christmas
when my uncle played Santa Claus and I think that he did that very well.
He did it with a lot of humor.
He has always spoken like this and also coughed all the time. He presented a very good show. I think that was Christmas when I doubted that there was a Santa Claus because I realized “Oh, something’s wrong here. Somehow this Santa Claus reminds me too much of my uncle. ” That was an interesting experience. Yes, those are the memories that came up for me,
these are the things that I remember most. It’s these little moments. I would be interested,
what your favorite childhood memory is. When you think about Christmas
