Sigh. Idiots are on parade again. Enter: People’s Climate March.
New York (AFP) – Celebrities, activists and political leaders are expected to join more than 100,000 people in New York Sunday for what could be the largest climate change protest in history, organizers said.
Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, former US vice president turned advocate Al Gore, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio are due to take part in the “People’s Climate March.”
Oh well, as long as celebs are there.
What'll be the carbon footprint of all these hypocrites flying into NYC for the "climate march"? http://t.co/C3qxARaffg

How many celebs are flying private into NY to appear at the Climate Change March?
— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) September 21, 2014
Shh! You aren’t supposed to mention that.
How many actual climatologists will be marching today.. #climatemarch #PeoplesClimate

Heh. Meteorologist Joe Bastardi is mocking like the wind:
Tens of thousands expected at New York climate march http://t.co/XU3MjBj0jD … via @YahooNews the other 7 billion people on planet dont care
— Joe Bastardi (@BigJoeBastardi) September 20, 2014
Over and under on world population that actually cares about people climate moochers probably close to co2 in atmosphere.. .04%
— Joe Bastardi (@BigJoeBastardi) September 21, 2014
The mockery is well-deserved; Take a look:

Geez Louise.
But here’s some truth:
#PeoplesClimateMarch – just another corporate multi-million-dollar fundraiser by http://t.co/avr9bVgwoV and Avaaz http://t.co/cXxwhe5RK2

And a good question:
Wouldn't it be more environmentally sensible to stage a 60s-style "die-in" where everyone just lies down? Marching releases a lot of CO2.
— Popehat (@Popehat) September 21, 2014
Snicker.
Here’s another recent march that serves as a good contrast:
Thousands of Russians came out in Moscow to protest against the war in Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/ESgNB9yecv
— Anna Nemtsova (@annanemtsova) September 21, 2014
Speaking of that one, here’s how you crush the slacktivist absurdity of the “People’s Climate March” with one tweet:
Marching for climate justice in New York is a fashion statement. Marching for peace in Moscow is brave.
— Popehat (@Popehat) September 21, 2014
Brutal truth.
Twitter users brought it all home with these excellent exit points:
Dear #PeoplesClimate #ClimateMarch: If you’re worried about deaths, fight #ISIS & #Ebola, you know, those 2 things actually killing people
— Cameron Gray (@Cameron_Gray) September 21, 2014
The #PeopleClimateMarch supporters should visit poor third world villages & tell them they don't deserve life saving electricity.
— Mike C. (@MJCFlorida77) September 21, 2014
We’ll wait, slacktivists.
