Flashback: Biden wished rape on others + blocking of bill would cause rape

Yep. While Twitter is all abuzz over the Akin mess, something seems familiar about absurd, wrong and offensive rape comments.

Actually, the #Akin's rape gaffe sounds like smthing #Biden could hv said; maybe I'm being too harsh, bcuz we all know Joe gets a free pass.

Yes … whatever could it have been?

@imau2fan @GOP @Steve_Lombardo probably one of the dumbest things ever said like biden saying not passing jobs bill will increase rape

Bingo! A reminder from an article at The Weekly Standard in October 2011.

“In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city,” Biden said. “In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes–just to pick two categories–climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don’t rectify it.”

The vice president also seemed to suggest that the Obama administration’s first stimulus is the reason rapes and murders were not even higher in 2010 and 2011.” And God only knows what that number would have been had we not been able to get a little bit of help,” Biden said.

Video at the link; no cries of “out of context” can be made. More Twitter users point it out; remembering things that members of the press don’t want to remember.

@DLoesch Also Biden saying there'd be more rapes if jobs bill not passed

@girlmeetsgeek Biden once said not passing a jobs bill would raise rape rates nationwide. At least stupidity is bipartisan…

Where were Biden’s facts here? He was clearly using rape, and rape victims, as a way to scare and use women.

Further, was Biden talking about “legitimate rape” when he wished rape on women who oppose his policies? Remember when he was trying to snake oil-y sell us the Jobs Bill? He grossly prattled on about how he wished that those who opposed the bill (including women) had some notion of what it was like to be raped and have a 200 pound man standing over them telling them to submit.

Gee, if only Akin had upped the stupid and qualified “legitimate rape” with “a 200 lb man telling you to submit,” then wished it on opponents. Because, that is totally acceptable, evidently. In a vice president, even. Almost everything is hunk-dory, if Joe Biden says it.

@GarrettNBCNews: Romney calls Akin rape comments “insulting, inexcusable, and wrong,” But #Obama calls Biden's chains comment ok! #tcot

— DaveyTarded (@DaveyTarded) August 20, 2012

Or what about when noted mental health professional, Senator Harry Reid, said, “Men, when they’re out of work, tend to become abusive”? Not some men, which could be arguably defended: All men, in general. Well, no big whoop! Stunningly stupid comments are allowed if a Democrat spews them.

This Twitter user sure was prescient.

Oh, FYI: Guess what N.O.W. called Biden’s reprehensible rape claims?

NOW: Biden’s rape argument is legitimate

“Legitimate.” Oh, the irony.
