It was a tale of two halves in Ann Arbor, but it was the home team that officially welcomed USC to the Big Ten.

The reigning national champion Michigan Wolverines, ranked 18th in the country, found the end zone with under a minute to go for a 27-24 victory over the 11th-ranked Trojans.

Michigan failed to get a first down in its first five drives of the second half after racking up over 200 yards of offense in the first. However, on third and 1 with just over two minutes to go, Kalel Mullings got the Wolverines within striking distance with a 63-yard run to the USC 17.

Seven plays later, Mullings found the end zone on a fourth and goal from the 1-yard line to put Michigan up, 27-24, with 37 seconds left. A stop would have all but given the Trojans the victory.

USC had no timeouts when it got the ball back, and the Trojans failed to cross the first-down marker on fourth and 9 from their own side of the field, giving Michigan the victory.

Michigan led 14-3 at the half, but USC came out of the locker room with a 12-play touchdown drive. Michigan had a pick six on USC’s next drive, but its next turnover didn’t result in a similar fate.

A Trojan fumble was recovered by Michigan inside the 10-yard line, but Wolverines’ defensive lineman Kenneth Grant lost a fumble of his own on the return. So, USC had another set of downs, and the Trojans took advantage by scoring a touchdown two plays later to make it a 20-17 game.

After Donovan Edwards lost a fumble on Michigan’s own end, USC scored to take a 24-20 lead three plays later. But when it needed it the most, the Trojan defense was unable to get a stop.

Michigan got the ball back with four minutes to go, after it failed to get a first down in each of its first five possessions of the half.

The Wolverines showed USC what Big Ten and Michigan football is all about, rushing for 290 yards and throwing for just 32. Mullings led the way with 159 yards on the ground and two touchdowns on 17 carries, while Edwards found the end zone while running for 74 yards on 14 attempts.

Miller Moss completed 28 of his 51 attempts for USC for 283 yards, three touchdowns and a pick.

It was a much-needed win for Michigan (3-1), which had a tough loss to Texas, which is now No. 1, at the Big House two weeks ago. A loss, even with a 12-team playoff, would have been detrimental to their postseason hopes. It will be interesting to see where USC, which entered as a four-point favorite, will fall in the polls.

Michigan is back home next week for a Big Ten matchup against Minnesota, while USC (2-1) will host Wisconsin for its first home Big Ten battle.

A luxury yacht that fire officials say was loaded with “1,000 rounds of unspent ammunition and fireworks” has been captured on video sinking at a marina in California after bursting into flames.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department says the incident involving the 100-foot-long vessel happened Thursday night and two people onboard managed to escape without injuries.

“According to [the] boat owner, 1,000 rounds of unspent ammunition and fireworks [were] onboard,” the department wrote on X, before adding that the boat became “fully submerged.”

Video taken at the scene showed firefighters spraying the boat with hoses as the flames engulfed multiple decks.

After part of the fire was extinguished, two people can be seen standing on a dock and watching the smoldering yacht go underwater.

“I saw it fully engulfed in flames and like many of us living here heard an explosion and saw fireworks coming off it, and more flames and then walked down here and captured video of it,” local resident Lynn Rose told NBC Los Angeles.

The yacht was identified by the website Boat International as The Admiral, which it says was last listed for sale in 2018 for nearly $1 million.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department says it is reviewing the cause of the fire.

Coast Guard crews that arrived on scene installed around 2,000 feet of boom to contain nearly 4,000 gallons of diesel that leaked from the yacht during the fire, according to NBC Los Angeles.

A Texas man, suspected in a 2021 cold case, was arrested last week for the deadly stabbing of a victim in Austin before being released on bond four days after he was booked into jail.

Mithovar Christopher Antoine Jr., now 22, is accused of fatally stabbing Nikolas Martinez, 23, near the victim’s apartment complex in South Austin in July 2021, according to Fox 7.

Martinez was playing video games with his nephew on the day of the incident when he took a break to take laundry out of his apartment complex’s communal facility before he was stabbed.

He then called 911 to report that he had been stabbed and drove himself to a nearby gas station for help, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Martinez’s parents said two years ago they were upset with the lack of information disclosed about who killed their son.

“We know nothing’s going to bring [him] back,” Martinez’s father, Martin Martinez, told Fox 7. “Nothing’s gonna make it better, but just not knowing is just killing us.”

“We think it was something random that just happened, and we don’t know why,” Martinez’s mother, Wendy Martinez, told the outlet. “So if anybody saw anything, just come forward.”

This June, Austin Police received an anonymous tip saying they had witnessed Antoine Jr. stabbing Martinez near a South Austin apartment complex, according to an arrest warrant, Fox 7 reported.

Police executed another search warrant and discovered the suspect had been searching for news articles related to stabbings in Austin just days after Martinez’s death.

Law enforcement found Antoine Jr. in Temple last week, and he was arrested and booked into the Bell County Jail. A judge set his bond at $150,000, and he was bonded out of jail four days later.

Bell County officials told Fox 7 the suspect was released without being extradited to Travis County.

Antoine Jr. was arrested for unauthorized use of a vehicle and burglary of a habitation in the two years before Martinez’s death, court documents show, according to Fox 7. He bonded out of jail two months before Martinez’s murder.

Since he was out on probation, Bell County could revoke probation and seek additional warrants for his arrest, which would land him back in jail.

A grand jury in Travis County will still need to indict Antoine Jr. for Martinez’s murder.

Republican Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., issued an ultimatum to North Carolina’s GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson following the bombshell report of his alleged porn scandal, saying that he “owes it to President Trump.”

“If the reporting on Mark Robinson is a total media fabrication, he needs to take immediate legal action,” Tillis said in a Friday post on X.

“If the reporting is true, he owes it to President Trump and every Republican to take accountability for his actions and put the future of NC & our party before himself,” he said.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Robinson’s campaign for comment.

In comments to CNN, Robinson said that this was “not us.”

“This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me,” Robinson said. “I’m not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured this, these salacious tabloid lies.”

In CNN’s report Thursday afternoon, the outlet alleged Robinson’s previous use of a pornography site, called “Nude Africa.”

On the pornographic site, Robinson allegedly messaged with fellow users regarding peeping on women in locker rooms as a teenager, describing himself as a “black NAZI” and declaring a fondness for transgender pornography. The candidates’ involvement spanned from 2008 to 2012, according to CNN, well before Robinson entered the political arena in 2019.

CNN’s report alleged that Robinson used a pseudonym on the porn site, “minisoldr.”

“I came to a spot that was a dead end but had two big vent covers over it! It just so happened it overlooked the showers! I sat there for about an hour and watched as several girls came in and showered,” Robinson allegedly wrote on Nude Africa.

In another post in 2010, CNN reported Robinson allegedly stated, “I’m a Black Nazi!” while discussing Black Republicans.

The allegations come as North Carolina remains a highly contested battleground state as the 2024 election inches closer.

The key battleground states – including North Carolina – had razor-thin margins that decided President Biden’s 2020 election victory over Trump.

In 2020, Trump narrowly won North Carolina by just over 1 point. The latest polls in the monumental 2024 presidential race suggest a coin-toss race, with the former president holding the slightest edge.
