Greta Van Susteren is alerting Twitter to a story that was not getting much coverage in the United States, reporting that a Canadian border guard was shot this afternoon on the border with Washington State.
Details are still emerging, but the Canadian media has been all over it for about two hours. The best reporting as of now seems to be coming from local outlets in Vancouver. The newspaper The Province is reporting that the shooter approached the border crossing from the U.S. side in a white Ford Econovan, shot the female agent in the neck, then took his own life.
Vancouver news anchor Rob Brown of the CTV network tweeted a photo of the agent being airlifted to the hospital. Thankfully, she is still alive.

We’re sure more details will follow. Hopefully this was an isolated act, and we wish the guard a speedy recovery.
