A personal computer (PC) is a multi-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and price make it feasible for individual use. Personal computers are intended to be operated directly by an end-user, rather than by a computer expert or technician.

“Rocky IV” star Dolph Lundgren is looking forward to seeing artificial intelligence used in the medical field.

“AI I’m sure will be extremely useful,” Lundgren told Fox News Digital. “They’re already using it in cancer research.”

He continued, “They used it to find that COVID vaccine so quickly. And they’ve actually taken those same algorithms and used it in cancer research [I know] because I’m a little bit involved in that now. So, there’s some really positive aspects.”

Earlier this year, CNBC reported that Moderna had partnered with IBM to use generative AI and quantum computing to advance mRNA technology, a key component in the company’s COVID-19 vaccine. The agreement could help speed up Moderna’s work on new vaccines and therapies.

Last month, Insilico Medicine, an AI-driven biotech company based in Hong Kong and New York City, recently announced that its new AI-designed drug for COVID-19 has entered Phase I clinical trials, and could become an alternative to current antivirals like Paxlovid and Lagevrio.

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?

Lundgren has been battling cancer since 2015 after doctors found a tumor in his kidney.

He underwent surgery and was doing well until 2020, when additional tumors were discovered.

In 2021, he was told one tumor had grown to the “size of a lemon” and was inoperable, but he later sought a second opinion, and alternative treatments were made available to the actor.

Lundgren told Fox News Digital that he is now doing well, though still facing a somewhat tough road.

“Last time I checked, you know, everything was good,” he said. “There is no cancer, and they check the blood for cancer cells.”

He continued, “I think I’ll always have to be on some kind of treatment and be aware of this, but I live a normal life now. It’s different than hearing you have three months left, which I of course have been in that room which was a life-changing experience really.”

According to a study published in August by Nature Medicine, to help pinpoint the origin of unknown origin, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created an artificial intelligence model that analyzes the patient’s genetic information — and predicts where the tumor first appeared.

When using the new AI model for 900 patients with cancers of unknown origin, researchers found that they could accurately classify at least 40% of tumors.

It is one of many advancements in cancer research using AI, including other models that are working to predict breast, prostate and pancreatic cancers.

As for other applications for AI, Lundgren sees the “good aspects and bad aspects about it.”

“Cell phones are great, but they’re also a bit of a plague, you know, they’re addictive, and you have no time off ever,” he said as an example.

“Hopefully they won’t replace journalists or actors,” he added with a laugh. “I don’t think so, I’m positive, and I think that human ingenuity will find a way to control it and use it for the best.”

Lundgren’s AI concern for actors echo the one of the primary sticking points in the now stalled negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP, the right to protect one’s likeness from being duplicated or altered by AI

Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. It may not be difficult to store up in the mind a vast quantity of facts within a comparatively short time, but the ability to form judgments requires the severe discipline of hard work and the tempering heat of experience and maturity. A personal computer (PC) is a multi-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and price make it feasible for individual use. Personal computers are intended to be operated directly by an end-user, rather than by a computer expert or technician.

Three musicians from the iconic American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, plus three other people, were killed in a terrifying plane crash on the Louisiana-Mississippi border on this day in history, Oct. 20, 1977.

Lead singer and founder Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and his sister, backup singer Cassie Gaines, were all killed on impact.

The crash of the small Convair CV-240 passenger plane also claimed the lives of assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray.

Twenty people survived.

“The crash took away one of the great American musicians,” Gene Odom, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s security manager, and one of the survivors of the crash, previously told Fox News Digital.

“It took from me a lifelong dear friend and fishing buddy.”

Odom grew up with Van Zant and other founding members of the band in Jacksonville, Florida.

The plane ran out of fuel at about 10,000 feet and crashed violently into a wooded area.

Odom helped lead a vigil to Van Zant and the other victims last night near the town of Gillsburg, Mississippi. A memorial was erected near the site of the crash in 2019.

Odom was thrown from the plane and found by rescuers some time later under one of the wings, with terrible injuries.

He suffered a “massive hole in the head from flying through the fuselage, a broken neck, broken ribs and 45 years of pain,” he said.

It was only after Odom got out of the hospital that he learned Van Zant and the others were dead.

“The only reason so many survived is that there was no fuel left on the plane. So there was no fire,” said Odom.

Guitarist Gaines, he said, had just joined the band a year earlier, at the behest of his sister Cassie, the singer who was also killed in the crash.

“He was going to be a star, a rose that never got to bloom,” said Odom.

Lynyrd Skynyrd remains one of the biggest acts in music history and is arguably the top American rock band of all time.

The band has toured for decades with Johnny Van Zant, the founder’s younger brother, on lead vocals. They largely play songs written and first performed by Ronnie Van Zant a half-century ago — a testament to his enduring legacy in rock history.

“Sweet Home Alabama,” one of the band’s signature songs, an ode to “the Southland,” boasts nearly 1 billion plays on Spotify, nearly 50 years after it was recorded in 1974.

The band’s signature tune, “Free Bird,” from Lynyrd Skynyrd’s debut 1973 album, is a rock epic. The song’s impact has expanded beyond music and embedded itself in wider pop culture.

It was heard in the movie “Forrest Gump” while a video of the band performing the song in Oakland in July 1977 has generated tens of millions of plays on YouTube.

“This definitive Southern-rock guitar epic had a humble birth, with late Skynyrd frontman Ronnie Van Zant scribbling lyrics about keeping love alive on tour,” according to an article in Rolling Stone about “Free Bird.” The publication included the tune on its 2021 list of 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The band’s aircraft was flying to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from Greenville, South Carolina, where Van Zant closed the show with “Free Bird.”

He never performed again.

“Old Lynyrd Skynyrd still sells a couple million albums a year,” said Odom.

“Elvis, The Beatles and Lynyrd Skynyrd. How ’bout that for my old fishing buddy?”

A personal computer (PC) is a multi-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and price make it feasible for individual use. Personal computers are intended to be operated directly by an end-user, rather than by a computer expert or technician.

Army private Travis King, who bolted to North Korea earlier this year, has been charged with a host of crime from the U.S. ranging from desertion to possessing child pornography, according to a report from Reuters.

King faces eight total charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which also include making false statements and disobeying superior officers.

According to Reuters, the Army has charged him of broad misconduct prior to his escape to North Korea, including a previous attempted escape from U.S. military custody in October 2022.

King has also been accused of soliciting a Snapchat user in July 2023 to “knowingly and willingly produce child pornography.” He was also accused of possession of child pornography.

He was also charged with insubordination for leaving his base after curfew and drinking alcohol in violation of Army regulations.

According to a statement, obtained by Reuters, a family spokesperson, King’s mother, Claudine Gates, asked that her 23-year-old son “be afforded the presumption of innocence.”

“The man I raised, the man I dropped off at boot camp, the man who spent the holidays with me before deploying did not drink,” Gates said. “A mother knows her son, and I believe something happened to mine while he was deployed. The Army promised to investigate what happened at Camp Humphreys, and I await the results.”

PENTAGON DISPUTES PYONGYANG’S CLAIM THAT US SOLDIER TRAVIS KING WILLINGLY SOUGHT ‘REFUGE’ IN NORTH KOREA

King, a Private 2nd Class in the U.S. Army who has served since 2021, entered North Korea on foot on July 18, when he reportedly sprinted away from a tour group into the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea.

The incident happened after King finished approximately two months in a South Korean detention facility following a physical altercation with locals, a senior defense official previously told Fox News. Throughout the time he was held at the facility, he made comments that he did not want to come back to America, according to a U.S. official.

North Korea’s state media reported that King confessed to crossing into the North because of “inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army.”

“During the investigation, Travis King confessed that he had decided to come over to the DPRK as he harbored ill feeling against inhuman maltreatment and racial discrimination within the U.S. Army,” state media outlet Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. “He also expressed his willingness to seek refuge in the DPRK or a third country, saying that he was disillusioned at the unequal American society.”

King was eventually returned to U.S. custody in September.

“The relevant organ of the [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] decided to expel Travis King, a soldier of the U.S. Army who illegally intruded into the territory of the DPRK, under the law of the Republic,” KCNA wrote, according to translations provided by Yonhap News Agency.

King was flown to a military hospital in Texas on Sept. 28 for medical and mental health evaluations.

Details are still scarce about King’s treatment in North Korean custody and the soldier has not publicly explained why he fled to one of the world’s most reclusive nations.

A personal computer (PC) is a multi-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and price make it feasible for individual use. Personal computers are intended to be operated directly by an end-user, rather than by a computer expert or technician.

Thousands of information technology (IT) workers who have contracted with U.S. companies have secretly sent millions of dollars in wages to North Korea for use in its ballistic missile program, FBI and Department of Justice officials said.

The workers were dispatched by North Korea to work remotely for U.S. companies have been using false identities to get the job, authorities said Wednesday at a news conference in St. Louis. The money paid to them was funneled to the North Korean weapons program, authorities said.

The workers lived primarily in China and Russia and deceived businesses into hiring them as freelance remote employees, the FBI said. They found various ways to make it look like they were working in the United States, including paying Americans to use their home Wi-Fi connections, said Jay Greenberg, special agent in charge of the St. Louis FBI office.

“We can tell you that there are thousands of North Korean IT workers that are part of this,” spokeswoman Rebecca Wu said.

The IT workers generated millions of dollars and, in some cases, infiltrated computer networks and stole information from the companies that hired them, authorities said. Officials didn’t reveal the names of the companies that hired the workers or how federal authorities became aware of the scheme.

North Korea has used a variety of criminal schemes to fund its regime.

In 2016, four Chinese nationals and a trading company were charged in the U.S. with using front companies to evade sanctions targeting North Korea’s nuclear weapons and ballistics initiatives.

In February, United Nations experts said that North Korean hackers working for the government stole record-breaking virtual assets last year estimated to be worth between $630 million and more than $1 billion.
