This Horse Race Was Well Underway When An Unlikely Visitor Joined In On The Action
On your mark. Get set. HOP?
While everyone was focused on a horse race in Australia, there was another animal out hopping along to steal the crown. While spectators traveled far and wide to take in a local horse race, many were caught off guard when a the unusual critter decided to get in on the action.
During the final race of the day at a race track in Cessnook, a stray Joey hopped the fence and started to make a run for it as the champion horses and their jockeys pounded along the track. Luckily for this marsupial, a smooth getaway was possible.
But with the ability to jump nearly 15 feet in a single hop, the little roo certainly gave the horses a run for their money.
On average, a kangaroo’s cruising speed is 20 miles per hour, but they can reach speeds of 30 miles per hour!
