Sarah Palin: Bill Maher not free to attack my child

Nothing is likely to stop Bill Maher from attacking Sarah Palin: fresh new stand-up material is hard to come by since Bush left office, after all. Maher ducked out of the opportunity to meet up with Palin in person and discuss his cheap shot at Trig face-to-face, but he’s not off the hook yet. Palin posted a statement to Facebook today that called out both Maher and President Obama for their mockery of “innocent, beautiful people.”

Bill Maher is free to attack me, but not my child, nor other innocent, beautiful people. And I’m not a Word Policeman, but when President Obama mocked people with special needs who participate in the Special Olympics, his words cut through the heart and reminded me how powerful mocking words are when aimed at the innocent.

Palin denies being a member of the “word police,” but is she just being too sensitive? The Left never seems to worry about playing language cop each time it adds another entry to the Big Book of Racist Code Words, like “peanut butter and jelly” or “kitchen cabinet.” Remember when MSNBC’s Martin Bashir just let us know that IRS is the GOP’s new “N-word”? And “illegal alien”? Not hip.

Maher really ought to retire the “R-word” and stick to bullying grown-ups. He’d still have the C-word to throw at Palin — “one of the biggest laughs in my act,” he claims.
