Malawi welcomes first female president

Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika died of a heart attack Thursday, according to the local government. All power of the president is supposed to be transferred to the vice president, Joyce Banda. Malawi government has now confirmed Mutharika’s death and Africa is now welcoming its second female president. Here are a few more details on the situation.
