Touré accuses Romney of ‘niggerazation’ of Obama; conservatives hit back

http://twitter.com/#!/Toure/status/236195384614060032

Oh. Good. Lord. This afternoon on MSNBC’s farcical “The Cycle,” professional race card wielder and hack Touré suggested that Romney, in referring to the Obama campaign as angry, is demonizing Obama by “otherization,” or “niggerization.” Yes, really. Breitbart.com’s Ben Shapiro has more:

“That really bothered me. You notice he said anger twice. He’s really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the ‘otherization,’ he’s not like us.

“I know it’s a heavy thing, I don’t say it lightly, but this is ‘niggerization.’ You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who we’ve been trained to fear.”

This is disgusting. It’s a lie, and what’s more, it waters down racism to the point where anything qualifies – and to the point that real racism isn’t taken seriously anymore. According to Toure, it’s racist to suggest that Obama is the “food stamp president,” even if he’s elevated food stamp usage to record levels; it’s racist to call him angry; but it’s not racist for Joe Biden to suggest that freeing Wall Street will put black people “back in chains.”

You can view the video here. (The relevant portion begins around the 4:50 mark.)

To call it disgusting is being generous. Conservatives were absolutely livid. Fed up with the constant accusations of racism merely for speaking out against the president’s destructive policies and disregard for this country’s well-being, they fought back — hard.

@MSNBC Toure should be immediately fired and an apology should be issued. You racist idiots r going to incite violence and get people killed

@Toure Just a thought…. your last name wouldn't happen to be CIST would it?

@Toure I must have serious African roots because I can be one angry mofo. #youareanidiot

In Toure's world, "angry" is racist but "niggerization" isn't. This is a celebrated liberal commenter, people.

And, as is wont to happen, out of the ashes of Touré’s credibility rose a brilliant hashtag game:

The fact that @Toure cannot spell "niggerization" and instead spells it "niggerazation." #ThingsToureThinksAreRacist

Rarely invoke his name, but musty say, betw'n #GutsyEricBoehlert & #ThingsToureThinksAreRacist, #Breitbart would be in his GLORY right now!

Absolutely!

The best part of all this? Ace of Spades hammering Touré for his race-baiting idiocy, as only Ace can:

.@toure I applaud your efforts to keep this election focused on issues instead of hot-button racial appeals.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure God Bless You, Sir. You are doing such a wonderful job of promoting amity between the races and reducing suspicions and ill-will.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure some miscreants — let's call them what they are, scumbags — might be tempted to inject intemperate racialist language. But not you

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure Kudos! the word "anger" is a hot-button racialist appeal, whereas, for example, "niggerization" is not such. http://t.co/WFhQbR04

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure If only our dialogue could be moderated by cool-headed men of good will like you, rather than racial arsonists like Romney.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure I am glad you are there to call foul on people who use hot-button racial codewords like "anger" (by calling it "niggerization")

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure our dialogue would be so much more elevated if we avoided vicious words like "anger" and focused on nice words like "niggerization"

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure sometimes, in my blue moments, I fear that we will never heal these racial wounds, wounds caused by racist language like "angry"

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure but then my faith is restored, as cogent thinkers like yourself rubbish such hateful rhetoric with bon mots like "niggerization"

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure Thank you, good sir. You are doing the Lord's work.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure please continue providing your remarkable example of restraint and cool-headedness in the face of all this hateful racist appeal.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure there are some cynical monsters in politics — scumbags, again — who seek not to unite us but to divide us crassly into race tribes

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure some of these cynical hands — scumbags, if you will — wish to impassion voters by dealing in racial hatred and suspicion.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure it heartens me to no end to see very intelligent people like yourself repudiating such practices, and also, saying "niggerization"

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure we can all continue to stoke the fires of racial hatred, or we can do what you do so well, pour a cool pail of *love* on the embers

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure and FWIW, I am now convinced more than ever that Joe Biden's "chains" remark was simply a slip of the tongue about Wall Street…

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure …and certainly not a piece of any general panic-button move to stoke up hatred (and thus enthusiasm) among unlikely voters.

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

.@toure do you think we'll ever make such advances in racial amity that the word "Anger" will be deemed socially unacceptable and taboo?

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

as @cuffymeh notes, can we not all be more subtle with our racist dog whistles? Subtle, like @toure? http://t.co/jjGl0buw

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

I wish Governor Romney could keep this campaign on an elevated, non-racial plane, like Joe Biden and @toure

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

But everytime Romney opens his mouth another racist dog-whistle comes out, like "unemployment," "Medicare," and "recession" @toure

— iLoveScienceSexually (@AceofSpadesHQ) August 16, 2012

can you, @toure, and Joe Biden, teach Romney how to avoid such racially-divisive rhetoric?

Somebody’d better hose Touré down after all that burnage! Touré may be the first person ever to suffer from Twit-lash. And it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
