Rep. Tim Huelskamp: ‘I say we replace Common Core with Rush’s book’

Rush Limbaugh’s first children’s book, “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims,” earned him the Author of the Year award from the Children’s Book Council on Wednesday. Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) sent his congratulations, as well as a pretty good suggestion. Well, we thought so.

Out of touch? Limbaugh’s book has touched a lot of readers. “American history is profound,” he said Thursday. “The people who came here originally — discovered, founded, explored, built this country — are some of the most incredible people who’ve ever lived.  And they are worth knowing. What they did is worth understanding and appreciating. And that’s the objective of these books.”

The objective of Common Core? We’re still not sure.
