Dem convention stage unveiled; Will there be Greek columns?

The stage for the Democratic National Convention is set. Will Obama deliver his convention speech framed by the columns of the Barackopolis like he was in 2008?

I doubt we'll see the Greek columns this time. Obama doesn't want to remind you about Greece #p2 #tcot #tlot

How are the Greek column vendors in Charlotte faring this week?

Apparently, the services of the Greek column vendors will not be required, at least not for the main convention venue.

@sistertoldjah @AshantiDNC @TWCArena Where are the faux Greek columns?

That’s the Time Warner Cable Arena where indoor events are slated to be held. But Dems are hoping Obama and Biden will be able to speak from an outdoor podium at Bank of America “Panthers” Stadium, weather permitting.

Will there be Greek columns again? Or did Mitt Romney call it?

“One thing I am convinced that you are not going to see at the Democratic Convention — you are not going to see President Obama standing alongside Greek columns,” he said. “He is not going to want to remind anybody of Greece” — a country deeply in debt.

Obama 2008: Greek columns. Obama 2012: Greek ruins.

Change you can believe in.
