Conservatives hijack Ted Strickland’s ‘If Romney were Santa’ line

Former Ohio governor Ted Strickland gave one of the largest applause lines of the Democratic National Convention Tuesday night when he invoked Santa Claus and called out Mitt Romney as a mean old capitalist Scrooge. But conservatives were quick to set Strickland straight on how things work in America, not the North Pole.

Gov. Ted Strickland unwittingly spelled out the problem – Republicans don't act like government is Santa Claus. #pendejo #DNC2012

@politicoroger let's talk santa: billions in stimulus, solyndra, obamacare, 16trillion debt, record 46 million on foodstamps??? hmmm

Santa Claus production methods actually very inefficient. Better supply chain model would mean better gifts for children. What's to dislike?

Strickland: "If Mitt was Santa Claus, he'd fire the reindeer and outsource the elves" -Cool w/ me if I can buy more gifts at a cheaper price

What would Santa Obama do?

@HuffingtonPost Obama would bailout inefficient Santa Claus, give huge pensions & food stamps to the elves & nobody would have a Christmas.

Now we’re over-thinking things.

Isn't the use of elf labor in Santa's shop already a form of outsourcing?
